It’s the hottest time of the year! That’s common knowledge. It is high time to get away from the heat and cool down. One way to enjoy the sunshine is to eat frozen foods. You can find no better refreshment than ice cream.

Talking about ice cream, there is a new one that is getting popular in ads- soft ice cream. So, the traditional one is hard? To find out more about soft ice cream, let us explore the machine through which it is made- soft serve ice cream machine. You can read up and learn more about this machine:

A soft serve ice cream is yogurt, custard or simply ice cream that is not frozen too hard. To achieve this, there are soft serve machines that add air to the ice cream, adding to its volume up to 45%. If you can add 25% of air to a gallon of ice cream, that makes it 1.25 gallons of ice cream. The combination of higher temperature and more air creates creamier consistency to the mix. Because of air, soft serve machines will minimize the use of ingredients.

The machines are not only cool; they too have cool features. These machines have built in containers that can store, mix, churn, and freeze soft ice cream which it can dispense as well. Other models are incorporated with touchpad LED displays that will let you set the time or consistency of the finish product. When this is set, the  soft ice cream machine automatically adapt to whatever mix is used. The machine has a low mix light which will tell you when to refill the mix hopper. Some models possess audible signal that tells when to add more mix.

A soft serve machine has safety mechanism that guards against compressor burnout. This feature would shut down the compressor if a low-mix alarm doesn’t signal off in a few minutes. This great feature would automatically shut down the compressor once the low-mix indicator doesn’t function. But the compressor will cycle after each 10 minutes to keep the ice cream cold until another is added to the mix. A great function is also that of protecting the compressor from hot refrigerant gas that may make the ice cream freeze solidly.

When choosing soft serve machines, the capacity must be ensured depending on the desired volume of ice cream to be produced in every setting. Usually, machines are measured in volumes. The high volume can make up to 7 servings while the medium volume can serve up to 4-5 servings and the low volume can take care of 2-3 servings.

You can consume 115 volts for a small soft serve machine while the large one can use up 208-230 volts.

Once the mix has turned into soft ice cream, it is now ready to be served in a cone or bowl. Soft serve ice cream can go with root beer or banana split for a refreshing dessert. Whatever is your choice, walk under the sun and get cool down with soft ice cream. Enjoy eating.
