What are the Benefits of Using a Vacuum Food Sealer?
It is difficult to predict how long foods will remain durable after vacuum packing since the preservation depends on other factors such as the age and condition of the food when it entered the vacuum pack. However, it is established that vacuum packed foods can keep fresh for up 3 to 5 times longer when used in conjunction with refrigeration. The table below sets out some indications of the shelf life of vacuum packed foods kept in the refrigerator at +3/+5 oC.
What are the benefits of a central vacuum?
A healthier environment inside your home. Using a central vacuum in your home is a good way to reduce allergy-causing agents and indoor air pollutants. (2) Convenience. No more hauling heavy and awkward canisters up and down stairs and through the house. (3) Power. AirVac power units provide up to three times more cleaning power than canisters or uprights because they are built with larger, more rugged motors. (4) Performance. The vacuum controller I offer can be used without a vacuum reservoir. To do this, the vacuum pressure is measured from inside the vacuum tube. You just need to make a “T” connection in the vacuum line. However, I highly recommend using a reservoir. The vacuum reservoir serves as a buffer zone (or a backup for vacuum pressure).
What about vacuum sealing?
Vacuum sealing is great for vegetables and coffee, but is pointless for tobacco. Tobacco needs some air to be locked in with it , at least to begin with, in order for it to age. A perfectly vacuum sealed container will likely keep the tobacco “fresh,” but it may not really age the way we expect it to. I’m more than a little suspicious about the heavy plastic “bags” used by most of these machines.
Why should we buy a vacuum from you ?
The quality of our vacuums! When we purchase or trade in used vacuums we only purchase the vacuums that are in excellent shape. We just don’t buy junk. If we ever do (which is not very often) then we wholesale them out to vacuum shops who then fix them up and sell them to the public; Our price! Most vacuum shops wonder why we can sell so inexpensively. We don’t consider ourselves vacuum shops, we consider ourselves a “Vacuum Warehouse” and our prices reflect it.Provided you have a good vacuum, powders shouldn’t be a problem.
Can I use a portable suction unit to evacuate a vacuum splint?
Yes. Remember to have a Portable Suction Adaptor (Model EV 15PSA) when using a portable suction unit with the EVAC-U-SPLINT. When using the FASPLINT, simply apply the connection from your suction source to the plastic tube housing on the splint valve. Evacuation time will depend on the battery strength and suction capabilities of your portable suction unit. Hand operated suction units have also been used, but will take longer to evacuate the splint. The Halo UVX Ultraviolet Vacuum Cleaner is the first and only vacuum that uses UV-C technology to safely “Clean what you see, Kill what you can’t.
Why does some Vacuum Packed Produce look as if it is no Longer in a Vacuum?
There are some foods which for their own unique reasons give off gases when stored e.g. tomatoes, garlic and cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussel sprouts. It is best to part-freeze tomatoes before vacuum packing and pre-chill garlic, simply because the gases will not expand when frozen or chilled.
