I know many of you think that a dishwasher is a modern household appliance, but the truth is that a first dish washing machine was created in 1886 by Josephine Cochran. The maid of this wealthy middle calls woman was a clumsy woman that would often break or crack the finest china tea sets in the house. She created a machine and made it in such way that it won’t damage the pots while it washes them.

Alas, most people had to wait for a year 1950 to enjoy in this useful household appliance for washing dishes. The only places where you could found dishwasherr were restaurants and large catering companies that needed them for the work they did.

There is a long and succefull way dishwashers have come through since 1886, but we except they will be so much more then just machines to clean our dirty dishes without breaking them.

What is the exact and proper way of choosing a right dishwasher for your kitchen?

First and foremost, the size of your family will influence your choice. A standard 18″ compact dishwasher is suitable for a family of up to three people whereas a 24″ countertop dishwasher would accommodate a family of more than three members.

The next thing you should think about is the type of the dish washing machine that would suit you best. Maybe you have a white kitchen appliances and want to hide them together with your new kitchen, you can do this by buying a built in dish washing machine.

Free-standing models do come in assorted sizes, so you would needs to take the measurements of the space in your kitchen where the dishwasher was to be positioned. Your choices may be influenced by this by a large margin. If you live alone, or if your kitchen is particularly strapped for space you might consider a countertop dishwasher.

It is recommended that you get yourself a dishwasher that is good when it comes to energy saving, especially since the energy costs are getting higher and global warming warnings more serious. The greenest machines you can find are graded A, which means they are appliances with good energy efficiency. If your budget allows it, get yourself an Eco-friendly dishwasher.
